Elizabeth Yates
Elizabeth Yates is a Structural Yoga Therapist, sanctioned by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), is registered with Yoga Alliance and holds their Continuing Education Provider standing. Elizabeth appreciates working with specialty populations and making yoga accessible for “every” body..
She has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and currently leads classes and workshops on Yoga For Osteoporosis; Graceful Aging, Yoga over 55, leads retreats annually and Graceful Aging Teacher Training, training Yoga Teachers to work with seniors. She has been working with Agnes Scott College for over 10 years, corporate clients such as Claiborne, Fox, Bradley and Goldman, Talbott Recovery Campus and numerous private clients.
Mandy Dixon
Mandy Dixon is a Registered Svaroopa Yoga Teacher and a Registered Embodyment Yoga Therapist. She has over 200 hours of professional training and has been practicing and studying Svaroopa Yoga since 2006. She received her training at Master Yoga and Svaroopa Vidya Ashram in Downington , PA.
Mandy teaches private and semi-private Svaroopa Yoga sessions. She also offers Embodyment Therapy, a hands on yoga therapy practice. When she is not teaching yoga she works in her private office as a skilled Neuromuscular Therapist.
Mandy grew up in a Chiropractic home and has a lifelong experience with the natural healing arts. For this reason, she was drawn to Svaroopa Yoga for its precision in releasing spinal tension using alignment and supportive props.
Barbara Marin
Barbara Marin has been practicing Radiant Heart Qi Gong since 2004. Radiant Heart Qi Gong was developed by Teja Bell and is a gentle but powerful energy practice.
Barbara has also been a proponent of earthing or grounding as a way to connect to earth energy. Just spend sometime outside barefoot to see the effects.
Barbara is an enthusiastic volunteer at Springbrook Park and loves to travel with husband Cy.
Sanne Bagby
Sanne Larsen Bagby holds teaching certifications from the IIQTC and the HWF (Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi and the Healer Within Foundation), both founded by Tai Chi and Qigong master, Dr. Roger Jahnke and also from the Tai Chi for Health Institute, founded by Dr. Paul Lam.
In 2018, she studied with Master Zhou, head of the school for Tai Chi and Qigong at Wudang Mountain in China, where Tai Chi was said to have originated some 2,000 years ago. Her interest in Tai Chi and Qigong arose from her studies in Buddhism and Taoism, as well as from early training (brown belt) in the Goju Ryu school of karate, which emphasizes the necessity for both “hard and soft” approaches to deal effectively with fluctuations in life.
Nina Guzzetta
Nina Guzzetta is a long time meditator. She first began meditating in 2004 under the instruction of Swami Yogeshananda at the Vedanta Center of Atlanta. Since then, she has continued to cultivate her meditation practice. She has studied and been on retreat with other meditation teachers including Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Kittisaro and Thanissara.
In 2019, Nina began an intense two year on-line training program in mindfulness meditation sponsored by the University of California, Berkley. In February of 2021 she received certification as a “Mindfulness Meditation Teacher”. She will use the skills learned in her training program as well as her own insights about meditation to teach an introductory course in mindfulness meditation.
Nina is also a physician, specializing in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology, at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Since completing her training in 1995, Nina’s primary work has been anesthetizing children with congenital heart disease who require corrective heart surgery. She credits her longstanding career as a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist directly to her practice of mindfulness and meditation.
Marilyn Morrison
Marilyn Morrison loves writing and is currently working to publish a poetry book. She continues to evolve as she teaches the benefits of a healthy diet, movement with passion, and a sincere commitment to the body to stay healthy no matter where you are in the life cycle. Age cannot stop a healthy mind and body.
Frank Sapp
Frank Sapp has been practicing Qigong for almost ten years. He is a certified instructor for Level I and Level II Qigong.
He believes in helping people live a healthy, happy life using the foundations of Qigong along with the principles of Eastern Philosophy. He strives to help each student become their personal best.
He enjoys traveling with his wife, continuous learning and walking. He is active in several volunteer organizations in Tucker. In a previous life, he was a statistician, educator and trainer.
Yves Jeffcoat
Yves Jeffcoat is a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga and meditation teacher. Yves advanced training includes trauma-informed outreach. She was certified at Sacred Chill (West) in Atlanta. Yves began practicing yoga in 2015. After being drawn in by the intensity of power classes, she quickly became devoted to yoga as a spiritual practice. This led her into a path of healing, discovery and transformation. She has extensive experience in Ashtanga yoga and meditation under the guidance of Chan Buddhist monks.
Janina Edwards
Janina Edwards began teaching yoga in 2012, specializing in classical, restorative and aqua yoga. Since then, she has taught yoga and meditation at locations including Kashi Atlanta Yoga Ashram, LA Fitness, Decatur Healing Arts, Talbott Recovery Center for addictive behavior, and The Shepherd Center that provides rehabilitative care for people with brain and spinal cord injuries. As a volunteer she has taught yoga at the Department of Juvenile Justice (Fulton County, GA), and the DeKalb County (GA) jail. She currently teaches yoga at Tucker Yoga Cooperative, the Partnership Against Domestic Violence. She is a member of the Black Yoga Teachers Alliance and the Yoga Alliance (RYT-300, E-RYT-200).
Tracy Stroud
After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over 15 years ago, Tracy Stroud began taking yoga to keep her disease from progressing. Not only did she fall in love with yoga, but she began teaching shortly after. Tracy has taught yoga in a variety of settings over the years, including at gyms, yoga studios, country clubs, and through Gwinnett County Parks and Rec. Tracy is passionate about helping people improve their mobility, balance, strength and range of motion. Her classes emphasize good alignment in postures, breath awareness and body awareness to make the poses and postures safe and accessible for everyone.
Tracy received her 250-hour yoga certification through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center. She has also received certifications in chair yoga, Centergy and Yoga Fit. In her spare time, she loves reading, lifting weights and walking with friends. She and her husband love to travel and are avid hikers and scuba divers.
Fabiana Pimenta
Fabiana Pimenta received her 200-hour training in Prajna Yoga in 2017. She holds additional qualifications in Yoga for Cancer Survivors and is a certified Y12SR (Yoga for 12-Step Recovery) leader under Nikki Myers. She is a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) and for two years teaches little yoga bites at lunch time for her co-workers. She is a passionate learner and has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years. In 2016 she began a consistent daily yoga practice to overcome fibromyalgia pain and life/work related stress. In addition to teaching yoga, she has a fulltime job as a researcher. Yoga allows her to breathe, keeps her focused and improves her physical and emotional wellbeing. It is her honor and privilege to share her yoga practice, which is grounded on breath, mindful movements, strength, softness and fun. She is committed to make yoga accessible to everyone! She is your guide, but she always will remind you to listen to your body, your inner teacher! To be kind to yourself, avoid pain, find your boundaries, follow your intuition and find your own shape in each pose. Her motto is: “No matter one’s condition, yoga has something to offer to us all”.
